2011 Renault Laguna Facelift Priced Lower than Outgoing Model in Britain

Following their world premieres at the Paris motor show, Renault has released UK pricing and specification for the updated Laguna 2011 Hatch and Sport Tourer models ahead showroom launch in November. Despite the facelift, Renault claims that both models offer savings of up to £1,855 available compared to the previous range.

The facelift includes some minor exterior tweaks such as the reworked fascia with new headlamps and a restyled bumper incorporating a more prominent grille, plus equipment improvements and a series of engine enhancements that result in reduced emissions and greater fuel economy across the range.

For the 2011 model year, the engine line-up includes fully Euro 5-compliant engines, plus ten 'eco²' branded versions with sub-140 grams CO2. The least emitting engine in the Laguna range is the 1.5-litre dCi 110HP with 120 grams and a combined fuel economy of 60.1 mpg UK.

The Laguna is offered in three core trim levels, Expression, Dynamique TomTom and GT Line TomTom. The base Expression includes an Arkamys 3D Sound single CD/radio MP3 with Bluetooth and fingertip control, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, aux input, ESC and front fog lights.

Aside from the navigation system, the Dynamique TomTom adds automatic parking brake, and headlights and wipers, cruise control, chrome twin exhausts (excluding dCi 110), dual zone climate control, electrically heated and folding door mirrors, hands-free keycard, rear parking sensors, multi-functional TunePoint (for portable music players) and speed limiter.

Finally, the range-topping GT Line TomTom benefits from 18-inch alloys, a BOSE sound system with 10 speakers and amplifier, 4Control four-wheel steering on the dCi 180 HP, pearl black electric folding door mirrors with memory, and leather and alcantara upholstery with electrically adjustable heated front seats.

The revised Laguna Hatch starts from £17,795, with prices for the more practical Sport Tourer version set £1,100 higher than those of the liftback model.

New Renault Laguna Coupe Monaco GP Limited Edition

Renault is enhancing its Laguna Coupé range with the creation of a limited production model called "Monaco GP" that is supposed to recall Renault F1 Team's most recent wins there in 2004 and 2006.

The special edition Laguna Coupé features a Pearlescent White metallic paint job with contrasting Pearl Black roof, a set of black 18-inch 'Interlagos' alloy wheels and matching folding door mirrors.

Inside, the newcomer in the Laguna Coupé range gets dark grey leather upholstery with Monaco GP logo and gloss white inserts for the dash, centre console and door panels.

A Bluetooth, BOSE sound system, electric and heated front seats, multi-functional TunePoint (for portable music players), front and rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitor and fully integrated Carminat TomTom satellite navigation are all standard.

The Laguna Coupé Monaco GP is available for order now with first deliveries expected in early July. Pricing in the UK is set at £24,995 OTR. Production for the limited edition model ends in September.

Renault UK Launches New Entry-Level Version of Laguna Coupe

Just in time for the Christmas season, Renault's UK arm has introduced a new entry-level version of the Laguna Coupe that's priced at £19,995 MRRP. Based on the dCi 150 diesel model, the Laguna Coupe Tom-Tom adds a Carminat TomTom navigation system, automatic parking brake and a satin chrome centre console with Renault claiming that the price represents a saving of over £2,100 compared to the previous entry-level version when equipped to a similar level.

Other standard features include an Arkamys 3D Sound 140W audio system with MP3 CD reader and Bluetooth, 18-inch alloy wheels, eight airbags, automatic lights and wipers, dual zone climate control, electric heated door mirrors, MP3 player connection, rear parking sensors, "Super Fold" rear seat system and xenon headlights.

The new Laguna Coupe Tom-Tom dci150 is available for order now with first deliveries expected in January, 2010.

New Renault Laguna Coupe Black Edition - Better Equipped, Lower Priced

Following the earlier introduction of the 'Black Edition' variants of the Laguna Hatch and Estate in France, Renault decided to extend the limited run series to the Coupe model. Offered exclusively in conjunction with Renault's 150HP 2.0-liter dCi diesel unit, the Laguna Coupe Black Edition features an enhanced standard equipment package that supposedly represents a saving to the customer of €4,250.

In addition to the three standard metallic paint options (Pearlescent Black, Cassiopée Grey and Platine Grey), the Laguna Coupe Black Edition features twin chrome exhaust tailpipes, 17-inch Talisman alloy wheels, bi-Xenon adaptive lighting, automatic dual-zone climate control with air quality sensor, a 140W 3D sound system with CD/MP3 and Audio Connection Box, cruise control, six airbags and finally a-rear parking proximity sensor.

The starting price for the new version of the Laguna has been set in France at €29,500 and order books open this month.

Already? Renault Preparing Laguna Facelift Model

It's only been a year since Renault lifted the veil off the third generation Laguna hatchback but according to a report from France's Auto Plus car magazine, the mid-size sedan and its estate sibling will soon receive a very mild makeover. Changes include a new front bumper, the addition of LED daytime running lights, a restyled rear bumper and newly shaped tail lamps. While there's nothing really wrong with the car itself, the latest Renault Laguna has garnered a lukewarm reception from consumers and the press alike due to its yawning styling, especially in what concerns the 5door liftback variant.

But if Renault really wants to turn the tables, then the French automaker will definitely have to make a lot more changes to the Laguna than this subtle, and in our opinion, rather meaningless facelift.

Renault UK Announces Laguna Coupe Pricing

Following its world show debut in Paris earlier this month, the new Laguna Coupe will be available for order in the UK from mid-November with first deliveries expected to arrive in dealerships in January 2009. The Laguna Coupe that launches with seven versions spread across two trim levels (Coupe and Coupe GT) is priced from £20,995 to £27,995. At launch, four engines will be available, evenly split between petrol and diesel: 2.0-liter Turbo 205HP and 3.5-liter V6 240HP, followed by the 2.0-liter dCi 150JP and 2.0-liter dCi 180HP. -Continued

According to Renault, at £22,345, the entry-level petrol, Coupé 2.0 Turbo 205HP undercuts its equivalent BMW rival, the 325i SE Coupe, by a significant £6,805 at list price, even without taking into account its additional £1,000 worth of standard equipment.

The basic trim level's standard features include an Arkamys 3D Sound 140W audio system with MP3 CD reader and Bluetooth, 18-inch 'Interlagos' alloy wheels, eight airbags, automatic lights and wipers, dual zone climate control, electric heated door mirrors, MP3 player connection, rear parking sensors, Super Fold rear seat system, twin chrome exhausts (except 2.0 dCi 150 manual) and xenon headlights.

The range-topping Coupe GT benefits additionally from Renault's 4Control chassis, first seen on GT versions of New Laguna Hatch and Sport Tourer, as well as from the 18-inch 'Celsium' alloy wheels, cruise control, automatic parking brake, electrochrome rear view mirror, electrically heated and folding door mirrors, GT leather steering wheel, leather upholstery (choice of beige, dark carbon, light grey or 'camel'), Renault Hands Free keycard and speed limiter.

Renault Laguna Coupe “Le Scooped”

The virtually undisguised 2009 Renault Megane five-door and Coupe versions that we showed you yesterday weren’t the only models to be scooped by the folks over at French car magazine Auto-Plus; so was the forthcoming Laguna Coupe. Based on the 5-door Laguna sedan, the Coupe version looks like it hasn’t strayed too far away (in terms of design) from the Geneva Show Laguna Coupe Concept.

Like the new Megane, it too will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show this fall. Sales of Renault’s BMW 3-Series sized Coupe are expected to start towards the end of the year with the engine range including a variety of 4-cylinder and V6 petrol and diesel units. -Continued

2009 Renault Laguna Coupe & Megane 5d Scooped in Australia

-UPDATE: Mr. Hope e-mailed us and kindly requested that we remove the pictures

A local pharmacist Australia called Mark Hope from the village of Yungaburra, in Queensland, managed to scoop these pictures when a pair of disguised Renault prototype models stopped by for a coffee break. Turns out that the camouflaged prototypes were indeed the upcoming 2009 Renault Megane 5door hatchback and the 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe, both of which are expected at this year’s Paris Motor Show in September.

The Renault Laguna Coupe was previewed as a concept at the 2007 Frankfurt Show and from what we can tell from the pictures, the production version’s styling seems toned down a bit, but in general, the coupe looks like it retains the concept’s silhouette. The Laguna Coupe will most probably be offered with 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol and diesel engines generating between 140 and 201 Hp along with a top-notch 3.5-liter V6 unit. -Continued

Continuing with the 2009 Megane, Renault had given us a sneak peak of the 3door / Coupe variant at the Geneva Show in March (see here). Snapped here in 5door form, the new Megane lets go of the current version’s weirdly styled arse for a more subtle design. However -no thanks to the heavy camouflage, that’s about all we can comment on Renault’s VW Golf adversary.
