Kia Cee'd Facelift Unwrapped in New Spy Shots

The past few weeks we've seen numerous spy shots as well as an official teaser of the forthcoming Kia Cee'd facelift but these latest scoops that surfaced on Kia-World are by far the best as they reveal the refreshed hatchback in detail inside and out. This particular Cee'd that appears to have been bagged somewhere in South Korea Slovakia(?) is a higher grade version as it features a different treatment for the grille along with an additional front apron.

To sum up, the styling updates up front that include a new hood and bumper plus different head lamps and grille give Kia's C-segment hatchback a little more character while changes at the rear are less visible as they are limited to the subtly redesigned bumper and the reworked tail lamps. The new mirrors with integrated turning signals and the new alloy wheel designs round off the exterior changes.

As for the interior, the 2010MY Cee'd features a subtly redesigned center console with new controls and an upgraded audio system with Bluetooth connectivity plus a new steering wheel and revised gauges on the instrument panel.

The five-door Cee'd facelift will bow to the public for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Kia Officially Reveals Cee'd Facelift, Says Two More New Models to Premiere in Frankfurt

After the first photograph of the Cee'd facelift hit the web ahead of time earlier this week, Kia came out with an official press release and a high-res version of the teaser shot. Besides the obvious styling changes to the bonnet plus alterations to the bumper, grille and light clusters which bring the Cee'd into line with Kia's latest models like the Soul, the Korean automaker said that the 2010MY also features enhancements to the interior in terms of specification and design including a revamped center console and an upgraded audio system with Bluetooth connectivity.

Furthermore, Kia's European division mentioned that the refreshed Cee'd will be revealed to the public for the first time at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show alongside "two all-new Kia models".

We do know that one of these models will be Kia's yet-to-be named, small MPV that will rival the Opel Meriva and its ilk but we have no information on the other vehicle. It could be that Kia is referring to the European-spec version of the Sorento that made its world debut at the Seoul Show this past April but then again, it might be an entirely new model. We'll wait and see.

As anticipated, the Cee'd features a new fascia inspired by Kia's latest production and concept cars likes the Forte and KND-5 sedans. The cosmetic tidy-up includes the Korean firm's signature grille surround flanked by a pair of reshaped headlamps, plus a new bumper and hood design.

2010 Kia Cee'd faceliftFurthermore, Kia's VW Golf contender also features restyled exterior mirrors with integrated turn signals while our spy shots suggest minor updates at the rear including a new set of tail lamps and quite possibly, a redesigned bumper.

As many of you might remember, a couple of weeks ago we showed you a trio of leaked shots of the 2010 Cee'd's dashboard which has been upgraded with new controls for the air-condition and audio system on the center console, a restyled steering wheel and updated gauges on the instrument panel.

2010 Kia Cee'd Facelift Photos: Exterior Spied, Interior Leaked

2010 Kia Cee'd Facelift In addition to receiving a whole bunch of spy shots of the 2010 Kia Cee'd facelift at the Nurburgring race track in Germany from our photographers, the crew over at Kia-World also sent us three leaked photos of the hatchback's subtly refreshed interior. Kia's updated VW Golf-sized hatch is expected to make its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September, before arriving in European markets sometime during the fourth quarter of the year.

2010 Kia Cee'd Facelift The leaked shots of the 2010 Cee'd hatchback's interior reveal that Kia's designers have upgraded the center stack with new air-condition and audio system controls and their respective LCD screens while other changes include the restyled instrument panel gauges, a new three-spoke steering wheel and the redesigned lower part of the center console.

And how about the 2010 Cee'd's exterior? It's apparent from the spy photos of the camouflaged prototype on the 'Ring that the bulk of improvements will be made on the front and rear end of the car.

2010 Kia Cee'd Facelift Aside from the new hood design and the restyled exterior mirrors with integrated turining signals, expect a new grille and headlights influenced by Kia's latest production and concept cars likes the Soul and KND-5 mid-size sedan study plus a few changes at the rear including different tail lights.
